October 2014-January 2015
I am looking for an organized, responsible, task-master of an intern who has a working knowledge of Photoshop, Indesign, and basic web maintenance. This person will help me assemble book and calendar projects, prepare for comics shows, and get a close up view of a working cartoonist.
5-8 hours a week
Tasks will include:
Pre-production in Photoshop
Assembling projects in Indesign
Dealing directly with printers/publishers
Delivering orders to stores & post office
Ordering & managing merchandise
Letting Ponyo the chihuahua sit on your lap
Possibly teaching her a new trick
Candidates should be organized, responsible problem solvers who are not allergic to dogs.
Most work will occur in North/NorthEast Portland.
Having auto transportation is a bonus, but if you have a bicycle and a good
attitude about riding it to the post office, that is great, too.
Your own laptop is a must.
This would be a great opportunity for someone who is interested in chihuahua maintenance, fine tuning their pre-production skills, and seeing a publishing project from beginning to end.
This internship could be an opportunity to grow into a temporary, (modestly) paid position in 2015.
Send a resume with a cover letter by 9/17/14, telling me about yourself, your qualifications, and what you hope to get out of this internship.
to: nicolejgeorges at gmail dot com.
If you are a self-publisher or artist, please include those things in your resume or cover letter.
I respond with the speed of a cast-wearing sloth, so if you don’t hear from me, please follow up & be patient!
